Umoja na Maendeleo Mashinani (UMM) is a Swahili word which means unity and progress at the grassroots. UMM is a non-profit organization operating in Kenya and whose core of existence is to empower people at the grassroots socio-economically, psychologically and financially thus grow a vibrant, healthy, and progressive community.

We deeply appreciate donations from well-wishers and partners that enhance capacity of the organization to accomplish its grass-roots projects. All donations are strictly administered to fulfill the respective grass-roots projects. Tax receipts are available on requisition.

What we do

Umoja na Maendeleo Mashinani Organization connects people who share similar passions and empowers them to improve their livelihoods through implementation of development projects in conjunction with government agencies, donors, as well as likeminded persons and organizations. Our participatory approach to positively impact the communities’ wellbeing involves the following pathways.
